Every corner we turn in Internet land brings us back to the same video: “Pants on the Ground”.

The American Idol snippet has been bestowed the honor of 2010′s first viral video. The inescapable YouTube clip isn’t so much a video as a song — a song about pants (unfortunately not tactical pants!). And like every viral video, it’s been remixed, acoustified (again, again and again) and beat boxed. Actually, here’s a list of its top 10 remixes.

Do you think we should commission songwriter and gifted performer Larry Platt to write a tactical version of “Pants on the Ground”? Here’s what the lyrics might look like:

Tac pants on the ground?
There’s no tac pants on the ground!
Lookin’ very cool with your pants belted right.
Now your pants won’t hit the ground…

Hmmm … then again, maybe we’ll leave songwriting up to Mr. Platt. He certainly seems to have a knack for catchy lyrics.
