It’s been less than a week, and people are still talking about SHOT Show 2010. Can we blame them? Well, since we’re still talking about it, too, then probably not. With nearly 60,000 attendees (58,444 to be exact), it was SHOT’s second largest show of all time, with the largest being its 2008 Vegas show.
You’ve likely seen the product demos and hype (if not, check out the three days of coverage at Gun Holsters Blog), so we bring you the best videos that focus more on people rather than products.
1. Martial arts master Steven Seagal made an appearance at the ArmorWorks booth and called the SHOT show “amazing.” “It’s probably the greatest gathering of special technology for police and military that I’ve ever seen in one place,” he said. Watch Mr. Seagal promote the aptly named “Seagal Tactical Gear” line.
2. Who can forget the booth babes? And if you are unaware of the term, they are the attractive females who stand next to products at any trade show. And in most cases, they typically garner more attention than the items they’re touting.
3. Field & Stream, who posted this gem about booth babes last year, broadcasted live from the show. This well-edited video features editor Phil Bourjally, new guns, gear and, um, autographed panties.
4. Matt Hughes, a nine-time UFC Welterweight Champion, says “hi” from the U.S. Optics booth.
5. Alan Korwin of Bloomfield Press, the largest distributor of gun law books in the country, shared stickers and called the SHOT Show “astounding.” “It is so big, it’s overwhelming. There’s no way to see the whole thing, even if you are here for the entire show,” he says.
6. OK, we did slip in one new product display. Pam Zaitz of SHE Outdoor Apparel shows off Hot Mocs.
7. We’re not gonna lie: We picked this video because of the host’s awesome, two-braid beard. Take a look at the SHOT Show’s media day.
8. Massad Ayoob takes on an interesting concept: carrying a second firearm.
9. This sneak peak of the 2010 Advanced Armament SHOT Show party at the Voodoo Lounge at Rio must’ve had people kicking themselves for missing 50 plus Maxim girls.
10. Magpul’s truck creation turned a lot of heads at the show. “Looks like it’s just like their gear — it’s gonna go anywhere and do anything.”
